St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral, Hamilton, ON, Restoration
Since 2019, we have been carrying out the restoration of the major stained glass windows of St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral. We have been working in conjunction with Husky General Contracting who are restoring the building and window frames as part of a major restoration of the interior and exterior of the church. This church was built in 1859-60 in the Gothic Revival style and features an elaborately carved high altar and a collection of some of the finest Bavarian stained glass windows. A high point of the stained glass are the east and west side transept windows. These beautiful 8′ x 24′ windows had deteriorated greatly since their installation in the late 1890’s, and it was an honour to carry out the restoration of these masterpieces.
